I recently asked my followers to contribute to a survey of their favorite foodie restaurants in the Triangle. I was not looking for chain restaurants with food shipped in frozen on trucks. To be nominated, the restaurant had to fit at least one of the following criteria:
[one_fourth_first][/one_fourth_first][one_fourth][/one_fourth][one_fourth][/one_fourth][one_fourth_last][/one_fourth_last]
I then left it totally open for people to choose whatever restaurant they wanted. I knew there would be some restaurants that only got one vote — which I’ll post as runners up at the bottom. But I figured that the best ones would rise to the top with lots of votes and I was correct!
And here they are…
Tied for first place with each receiving 25% of the votes…
[one_half_first]Bella Monica is an Italian kitchen in Raleigh serving lunch and dinner. They have a gluten free and a kids menu. They were given the Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator in 2015 [/one_half_first][one_half_last]Originally opened as Poole’s Pie Shop in 1945, Poole’s has kept up with the times and is an iconic Raleigh staple, now a “Modern Diner with Reimagined Comfort Food.” With their locally sourced, seasonal menu (is mac and cheese ever out of season??), this is one to check out![/one_half_last]
And believe it or not, Second place was a three-way tie…
[one_third_first]Bida Manda describes itself as a “hip, modern hideaway for Loatian fare and exotic cocktails.”[/one_third_first][one_third]“A globally inspired menu of thoughtfully sourced, all-vegetarian fare.”[/one_third][one_third_last]Caribbean, Central American and South American Cuisine[/one_third_last]
