A few years ago, Cary lifted their moratorium on backyard chickens. Now Cary residents are allowed to have up to five backyard hens (no roosters!) as long as your subdivision covenants don't restrict them. The following homes are in subdivisions without covenants that restrict the keeping of backyard chickens. For more information about urban farming in Cary, including additional laws regarding keeping bees and livestock, see my Cary Urban Farming page.
