Lochmere Pavilion – Home to old world Italian restaurant, Bocci, women’s boutique, Swagger. Lochmere pavilion is on the corner of Lochmere Drive and Kildaire Farm, Across from Loch Lomond Lake.
Waverly Place Shopping Center – in addition to numerous retailers, Waverly Place boasts a splash pad and small children’s recreation park as well as a venue for summertime concerts and events. Anchor retailers are Whole Foods Market Cary and Cinebistro, Cary’s luxury dinner-and-a-movie theatre.

The parks below are located within a 2 mile radius of Lochmere. They can be reached on foot, but are also an easy drive away with plenty of convenient parking.
Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve
Harold Ritter Park is a small community park with plenty of great features. The playground is compact, so it’s easy to keep an eye on the kids. There are also baseball fields, a basketball court, clean bathrooms, a sand area with diggers, walking trails and a small creek
The Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve is a great destination for nature lovers. It’s unique orientation has created a cooler microclimate, allowing flora and fauna more common in the North Carolina mountains to flourish here in the Triangle.
The Stevens Nature Center, located in the preserve, houses educational and historical exhibits from the Piedmont region of NC.
Kids Together Park is Cary’s first park committed to making parks and recreation accesible for people of all mental and physical abilities. This fully integrated playground offers a multi-sensory environment for people of all ages.

4. Convenient Location
Lochmere’s central location makes it very convenient to access just about anywhere in the Triangle. Located only 2 miles from the nearest highway, US 1, commuting to just about any location in the Triangle is reasonable from Lochmere. It’s also a great location if family members are heading in different directions, for example, if one family member needs to commute to Durham and another works in Raleigh.

5. Lakes
Lochmere subdivision has two lakes, Lake Lochmere and Lake Lomond. The lakes are managed by the Lochmere HOA and considered private property. Limited fishing and boating is allowed with the appropriate licenses. There is a 1 mile walking trail loop around Lake Lomond. When my family first moved up to North Carolina when I was a kid we lived in Lochmere and I have fond memories of the local parks 🙂 I still go over to Hemlock Bluffs and Swift Creek Bluffs nature preserves on occasion – they’re fun easy hikes in the area!
